Brighton to Bright Morning

The journey to Brighton went well on the fast train. We arrived and soaked in the amazing sun. The weather was superb the whole week really. The beach was made of stones and pebbles, not sand. But it was nice to relax on nonetheless and we sat for awhile on the smooth rocks. We saw the Royal Pavilion which is shown below with the spires. It was a nice building. The coolest part of Brighton was the pier with its arcade and amusement park on the end. We spent hours there. I played Dance Dance Revolution while Matt and Ryan shot zombies. We ate at Wagamama Japanese restaurant for dinner. They had good noodles and rice, but Ryan got sick after eating because he ate way too much that day. The week has been a tour of Asia eating-wise. Indian, Thai, Chinese, and Japanese proved that the Asian continent has some of the best food around. I had a thick hot chocolate at one cafe which reminded me of the hot chocolates in Spain. But no churros in England, sadly. After walking around at night with bright lights and stores closing, we took the train back to London.

We stayed in a hostel Wednesday night. There was only one other guy in the room and we never spoke as he was asleep when we arrived. The experience wasn't the nicest, as staying in a hostel usually isn't. We awoke in London with a full day for exploring. The British Museum occupied us for hours until we walked to Trafalgar Square after Pizza Hut. The National Gallery with tons of famous art is connected to the square, so we spent a couple of hours there. My favorites were the Turner landscapes and St. George and the Dragon. We walked to Buckingham Palace on The Mall, the road in between the square and palace. Guards were out marching so that was cool to see. A walk through Green Park brought us to the Underground station on our way to Hard Rock Cafe. I got us lost for an hour and a half taking the tube and walking when we should've just stayed at Green Park. Aggravated and exhausted, we arrived at Hard Rock to a comforting and expensive meal, after a long wait of course. We left for Oxford after eating.

Ryan and Matt left this morning early, after a wonderful time in England. I hope they made it to the airport on time. I awoke to see them off but went back to bed. I awoke again to a bright morning that was full of stuff to do. I have packed for Germany and Norway and leave soon. New adventures await, on the tail of the just-ended one.

An advertisement we saw (for Sherry and Lindsey).
